RAKI
DEMONS
 Raki is a traditional
Turkish spirit. It has a taste like
Pernod or Ouzo (aniseed), but is far more
potent! Also, if you drink water the
following morning, it is reported to
chrystalise in your stomach and
rehydrate! That means you end up just as
drunk as the night before.
Please take care
when drinking this tasty beverage, it
could come back to haunt you. Below, we

Chris,
one of our site visitors told us
of this incident...."My mate
Ben brought some Raki back from
turkey last year and decided to
give it to our mate Mossy. After
consuming about 5 shots of it, he
was absolutly wasted from them so
we told him to go home and get to
bed. Mossy stumbled out of the
house and we thought nothing of
it. About an hour later we
decided to go to the local
take-away to get some late night
grub. On the way back we noticed
a body lying in the back streets
surrounded by rubbish bins, so we
rushed over and it turned out to
be Mossy who had walked about 20
meters before collapsing and
falling asleep in the pissing
down rain. To this day, Mossy
doesn't remember a thing about
that night..... "

us this story about his mate
Skinner, pictured to the left
....
"After
a night out on bar street in
Shakers, X & Central we
walked back to the hotel to have
a few drinks at the bar. We were
already fairly drunk at this
point and managed to arrive
halfway thru happy hour so after
2 beers each & then 2 JD
& cokes I ordered Skinner a
Raki & lemonade, which he
drank and followed it up by
another. I started to notice that
he was very drunk, slurring words
& a lot of random comments
etc...
That
night i was lying in bed with my
head spinning, when I heard him
singing!! At first i thought he
was awake, but after he finished
he started talking about my
broken arm, which I did out
there, and a girl from back home.
This happened 2-3 more times in
the night so he must have been
doing it in his sleep. The next
morning we woke up, and he said
he still felt drunk I brushed
this off thinking it was just a
hang over, but as we walked to
the pool he was stumbling and
tripping up all the way there.
Later we sat talking and he
continued to slur his words and
sway from side to side. This
lasted til about 5pm nearly 6
hours after waking"
